The Media Intersection is a promotional tool for small business. TMI buys Television spot inventory from a movie company that refurbishes old movies and TV shows.  This movie company acquires TV inventory by trading their refurbished movies  for spot advertising time on participating television stations.
The Media Intersection finds small businesses that need to advertise on TV but can't justify more expensive standard advertising rates. TMI offers the least expensive way to advertise on national TV, no exceptions. return to top of page.

What is The Media Intersection?
Do you have a summary of the TMI services?
Yes, our services are summarized in our Press Release.

What is NEW about The Media Intersection?
TMI offers a new and unique service; in fact, the only promotional service of its kind.  In the opinion of TMI founder Fred Lundgren, the need for such a service has been increasing due to the growth of small, home-based businesses and made necessary by the explosion of web based businesses.
For the most part, advertising agencies, rep firms, and the television networks have ignored the needs of small businesses, choosing instead to focus on the time-tested formula of chasing the big companies with the big dollars.
The Internet-based ad agencies have followed in lock-step with established broadcast media firms by refusing to represent smaller businesses which enhances the success of  larger, well funded companies while draining the traffic and revenue away from home-based businesses.  This makes the probability of small business failure even greater.
The exclusionary pricing policies of broadcast media and large Internet ad agencies fail the logic test and make the need for TMI quite apparent.

Why should I use TMI to promote my business?
Chances are, you are reading this message because you need to promote your small business and, if your business is web-based, you can't afford the listing cost of Yahoo or a dozen others, plus the cost of search terms at Google.
If your small business is primarily brick-and-mortar, you have a different set of problems.  Most local TV stations in your area want several hundred to several thousand dollars for 30 second spots that won't touch your national audience, and the local newspaper is so big, heavy and expensive that you need a full page ad to even get noticed!
If you live in a big city, most of the AM and FM radio stations in town are owned by four companies who are engaged in merger negotiations with each other, and each company sells advertising on all of their English speaking stations to justify rates of from $500.00 to several thousand dollars a spot!   Of course, these same companies are buying up all of the outdoor advertising as well, while your local government won't allow your 2' x 3' sign on the edge of YOUR property.  Return to top of page.
Why should I promote my business on televison?
Several reasons are worth considering.  First, TV is by far the most powerful and popular medium in the history of humankind.  TV rivals radio and exceeds news print, and current web technology in it's usage.  It has a day-to-day impact on the general population.
Many webmasters and web-based business owners live in the computer and ignore power of TV.  Others feel the cost of TV is just too high.
The impact of Television is not a matter of debate.  When big computer companies want to put on a sales push, they go to the TV networks.  They don't add more banner and text ads to the growing universe of millions of  web sites.   TV is used by companies like Apple, Compac, Dell, and Gateway as the anchor of their promotions.
You probably chose you car, its accessories, most of your household furniture, your computer, even your residence    and your mortgage lender from ads you viewed onTV.
The power of TV will not decline until the television is totally integrated into the computer, and even then, passive TV viewing will always have its place for the tired mind and body.
For the first time in history, TMI makes the Power of TV available to small business.  As a small business owner, that power is available to you.  Return to top of page.
Can TMI target TV ads to my likely customers?
Yes!  TMI has dozens of stations and markets  from which to choose. Each outlet has attracted a different audience and has a different appeal.
For instance, webmaster/developer sites will want to buy infomercials on high tech shows while a brick and mortar specialized furniture companies will want their ads aired on home repair shows.  Return to top of page.
I have a small budget.  Will TMI work with me?
YesTMI was created for the business with a small advertising budget that can't justify standard ad rates.  If your national budget is only $10,000.00 or several times that amount, call us. TMI is also ready to accomodate the needs of your small business through radio.
Few businesses are too small for TMI but some businesses may be too large.  This makes TMI a very unique service.
Each TV station has different policies regarding the quality and content of ads.   TMI can guide you to the proper outlets.

What if my business is a very small start-up?
If you can afford your next  bag of groceries, gas for your car, or a night out on the town, you can justify the cost of advertising through TMI.  Our packages begin at $100.00 for 10 second radio spot ads.  This price gets you access to thousands of KCAA radio listeners in one of America's top radio markets.  See http://www.kcaaradio.com

Can I choose when and where my ads run?
Yes, to the extent of TMI's ability to control ad placement.   As TMI gets more clients and TV stations, it gains more flexibility.   When TMI makes a "buy" for you, it pays for air time in advance.  This "buy" secures a large inventory of your television advertising for up to several months in advance.
Since TMI must pay in advance, and since your studio production costs are not included in our prices, we ask you to pay when you place an order to supply TMI with necessary mobilization money.
If TMI is forced to move your ads to another station by circumstances beyond it's control, the amount of advertising your business will receive will be increased, based upon the published rate card difference in the per unit cost of the two stations.  However, this will never be done without prior client approval.

Will I pay extra for TV studio production?
YES!  If you understand the TV business, you are aware of the high cost of TV production and post production.  TMI uses computer  programming to eliminate high production costs, but we are not free.

Does TMI produce real programs or scroll text only?
TV stations would never approve script/scroll ads to fill air time because of the poor quality appearance.
TMI ads generally look like a combination of many other spot you see on TV..  Return to top of Page.
Does TMI produce real programs or scroll text only?
Can my company use TMI to promote products or services?
TMI looks for businesses that don't have the capital to advertise on national TV at standard rates.  TMI will not invade the advertising base of any station.  This preditory practice would soon defeat the mission of TMI which is to provide an affordable way for small businesses to advertise to a national audience.
TMI recognizes the preditory nature of it's service as a potential problem that can avoided and, will focus on the small business with national potential that can't afford standard advertising rates.  The TMI system is designed to add to the pool of national advertisers without cutting up the existing "pie" even further.  Return to top of page.
